POPPING (Open)
MONDAY. 7.30PM - 8.30PM. SAUNDERS WING.
This class ventures into the technique of popping, which involves quickly contracting and relaxing muscles to create a jerking effect. With a wide range of elements such as Boogaloo, Tutting, Waving and much more. Popping is a dynamic style of dance that originated in California.
CONTEMPORarY FUSION (AGES 10+)
THURSDAY. 7PM - 8PM. SLOCOMBE WING
This class will focus on the key principles of contemporary dance, which encourage creativity and physicality. These sessions provide participants with a sound knowledge of the basic technique, movement vocabulary, musicality, alignment, and coordination.
HOUSE (OPEN)
TUESDAY. 6.30PM - 7.30PM. SAUNDERS WING.
This class includes a foundation of Footwork, Jacking, Lofting, and Floorwork. This dance form was born in the Chicago club scene and expanded in the clubs of New York. It emphasises fast and complex steps combined with fluid movements in the torso. House dance incorporates movements from many other sources such as Capoeira, Tap, Jazz, Bebop, and Salsa. It includes a variety of techniques and sub-forms that include skating, stomping, and shuffling.
